Precautions for the use of bucket teeth


I. Operating Specifications
1. Vertical excavation principle
When the bucket teeth are dug down, they should be as perpendicular as possible to the working surface, with an inclination Angle of S120°. Excessive inclination Angle should be avoided to prevent the bucket teeth from breaking (this is especially crucial in hard rock conditions).
When excavating hard rock, adjust the position of the machine body so that the bucket cuts in along the direction of the rock crack to reduce abnormal force.
2. Coordinated movement control
Do not perform compound actions: When lifting the large arm, avoid simultaneously retracting the bucket, otherwise the bucket teeth are prone to tearing due to the upward traction force.
Avoid violent bumps and knocks: Do not use excessive force when extending the upper arm or lowering the lower arm to smash the bucket against rocks, as this may break the bucket teeth or damage the bucket.
3. Lateral swinging is prohibited
Under relatively high resistance, it is prohibited to swing the excavation arm left and right. The design of the bucket teeth does not take into account lateral forces, which may easily cause the tooth seat to break.
Ii. Wear Management
1. Regularly change positions
The wear rate of the outermost bucket teeth is 30% faster than that of the inner ones. It is recommended to regularly swap the inner and outer bucket teeth to balance the wear.
2. Gear seat wear monitoring
When the wear of the tooth seat reaches 10% to 15%, it must be replaced; otherwise, the increase in clearance will change the force point of the bucket teeth, leading to a sharp increase in the risk of fracture
3. Failure prediction
When dense furrows appear on the surface of the cast bucket teeth or local deformation exceeds 4mm(front working surface), they should be replaced in time to prevent cracking.
Iii. Economic Operation Skills
Loose material operation: The bucket is slightly opened to unload soil by inertia. Synchronous recovery of the bucket rod during soil unloading can accelerate the throwing of materials.
Excavation of hard soil layers: Only 2-3 bucket teeth are used to cut in and then the entire soil is excavated to reduce the load on a single tooth. Key summary: Prevent breakage during vertical operation, regularly adjust the position to extend service life, replace the tooth seat when it wears out by 10%, and match the tooth type (flat head /RC/TL) according to the working conditions.
Improper operation can shorten the service life of the bucket teeth by more than 40%, while standardized operation can significantly reduce the overall cost.
